Judah Will Be Restored

24 Thus says the Lord, (A)your Redeemer,
And (B)He who formed you from the womb:
“I am the Lord, who makes all things,
(C)Who stretches out the heavens [a]all alone,
Who spreads abroad the earth by Myself;
25 Who (D)frustrates the signs (E)of the babblers,
And drives diviners mad;
Who turns wise men backward,
(F)And makes their knowledge foolishness;
26 (G)Who confirms the word of His servant,
And performs the counsel of His messengers;
Who says to Jerusalem, ‘You shall be inhabited,’
To the cities of Judah, ‘You shall be built,’
And I will raise up her waste places;
27 (H)Who says to the deep, ‘Be dry!
And I will dry up your rivers’;
28 Who says of (I)Cyrus, ‘He is My shepherd,
And he shall perform all My pleasure,
Saying to Jerusalem, (J)“You shall be built,”
And to the temple, “Your foundation shall be laid.” ’

Cyrus, God’s Instrument

45 “Thus says the Lord to His anointed,
To (K)Cyrus, whose (L)right hand I have [b]held—
(M)To subdue nations before him
And (N)loose the armor of kings,
To open before him the double doors,
So that the gates will not be shut:
‘I will go before you
(O)And[c] make the [d]crooked places straight;
(P)I will break in pieces the gates of bronze
And cut the bars of iron.
I will give you the treasures of darkness
And hidden riches of secret places,
(Q)That you may know that I, the Lord,
Who (R)call you by your name,
Am the God of Israel.
For (S)Jacob My servant’s sake,
And Israel My elect,
I have even called you by your name;
I have named you, though you have not known Me.
I (T)am the Lord, and (U)there is no other;
There is no God besides Me.
(V)I will gird you, though you have not known Me,
(W)That they may (X)know from the rising of the sun to its setting
That there is none besides Me.
I am the Lord, and there is no other;
I form the light and create darkness,
I make peace and (Y)create calamity;
I, the Lord, do all these things.

“Rain(Z) down, you heavens, from above,
And let the skies pour down righteousness;
Let the earth open, let them bring forth salvation,
And let righteousness spring up together.
I, the Lord, have created it.

“Woe to him who strives with (AA)his Maker!
Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth!
(AB)Shall the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’
Or shall your handiwork say, ‘He has no hands’?
10 Woe to him who says to his father, ‘What are you begetting?’
Or to the woman, ‘What have you brought forth?’ ”

11 Thus says the Lord,
The Holy One of Israel, and his Maker:
(AC)“Ask Me of things to come concerning (AD)My sons;
And concerning (AE)the work of My hands, you command Me.
12 (AF)I have made the earth,
And (AG)created man on it.
I—My hands—stretched out the heavens,
And (AH)all their host I have commanded.
13 (AI)I have raised him up in righteousness,
And I will [e]direct all his ways;
He shall (AJ)build My city
And let My exiles go free,
(AK)Not for price nor reward,”
Says the Lord of hosts.

The Pharisees Seek a Sign(A)

11 (B)Then the Pharisees came out and began to dispute with Him, seeking from Him a sign from heaven, testing Him. 12 But He (C)sighed deeply in His spirit, and said, “Why does this generation seek a sign? Assuredly, I say to you, (D)no sign shall be given to this generation.”

Beware of the Leaven of the Pharisees and Herod(E)

13 And He left them, and getting into the boat again, departed to the other side. 14 (F)Now [a]the disciples had forgotten to take bread, and they did not have more than one loaf with them in the boat. 15 (G)Then He charged them, saying, “Take heed, beware of the [b]leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.”

16 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “It is because we have no bread.”

17 But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, “Why do you reason because you have no bread? (H)Do you not yet perceive nor understand? Is your heart [c]still hardened? 18 Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember? 19 (I)When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments did you take up?”

They said to Him, “Twelve.”

20 “Also, (J)when I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of fragments did you take up?”

And they said, “Seven.”

21 So He said to them, “How is it (K)you do not understand?”

A Blind Man Healed at Bethsaida

22 Then He came to Bethsaida; and they brought a (L)blind man to Him, and begged Him to (M)touch him. 23 So He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town. And when (N)He had spit on his eyes and put His hands on him, He asked him if he saw anything.

24 And he looked up and said, “I see men like trees, walking.”

25 Then He put His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone clearly. 26 Then He sent him away to his house, saying, [d]“Neither go into the town, (O)nor tell anyone in the town.”

Peter Confesses Jesus as the Christ(P)

27 (Q)Now Jesus and His disciples went out to the towns of Caesarea Philippi; and on the road He asked His disciples, saying to them, “Who do men say that I am?”

28 So they answered, (R)“John the Baptist; but some say, (S)Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.”

29 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

Peter answered and said to Him, (T)“You are the Christ.”

30 (U)Then He strictly warned them that they should tell no one about Him.

Jesus Predicts His Death and Resurrection(V)

31 And (W)He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be (X)rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be (Y)killed, and after three days rise again. 32 He spoke this word openly. Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him. 33 But when He had turned around and looked at His disciples, He (Z)rebuked Peter, saying, “Get behind Me, Satan! For you are not [e]mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”

Take Up the Cross and Follow Him(AA)

34 When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, (AB)“Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 35 For (AC)whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. 36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? 37 Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 38 (AD)For whoever (AE)is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”

The Transfiguration of Christ(AF)

And He said to them, (AG)“Assuredly, I say to you that there are some standing here who will not taste death till they see (AH)the kingdom of God [f]present with power.”

The Lord, the Only Savior

14 Thus says the Lord:

(A)“The labor of Egypt and merchandise of Cush
And of the Sabeans, men of stature,
Shall come over to you, and they shall be yours;
They shall walk behind you,
They shall come over (B)in chains;
And they shall bow down to you.
They will make supplication to you, saying, (C)‘Surely God is in you,
And there is no other;
(D)There is no other God.’ ”

15 Truly You are God, (E)who hide Yourself,
O God of Israel, the Savior!
16 They shall be (F)ashamed
And also disgraced, all of them;
They shall go in confusion together,
Who are makers of idols.
17 (G)But Israel shall be saved by the Lord
With an (H)everlasting salvation;
You shall not be ashamed or (I)disgraced
Forever and ever.

18 For thus says the Lord,
(J)Who created the heavens,
Who is God,
Who formed the earth and made it,
Who has established it,
Who did not create it [a]in vain,
Who formed it to be (K)inhabited:
(L)“I am the Lord, and there is no other.
19 I have not spoken in (M)secret,
In a dark place of the earth;
I did not say to the seed of Jacob,
‘Seek Me [b]in vain’;
(N)I, the Lord, speak righteousness,
I declare things that are right.

20 “Assemble yourselves and come;
Draw near together,
You who have escaped from the nations.
(O)They have no knowledge,
Who carry the wood of their carved image,
And pray to a god that cannot save.
21 Tell and bring forth your case;
Yes, let them take counsel together.
(P)Who has declared this from ancient time?
Who has told it from that time?
Have not I, the Lord?
(Q)And there is no other God besides Me,
A just God and a Savior;
There is none besides Me.

22 “Look to Me, and be saved,
(R)All you ends of the earth!
For I am God, and there is no other.
23 (S)I have sworn by Myself;
The word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness,
And shall not return,
That to Me every (T)knee shall bow,
(U)Every tongue shall take an oath.
24 He shall say,
[c]‘Surely in the Lord I have (V)righteousness and strength.
To Him men shall come,
And (W)all shall be ashamed
Who are incensed against Him.
25 (X)In the Lord all the descendants of Israel
Shall be justified, and (Y)shall glory.’ ”

Satan Bound 1,000 Years

20 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, (A)having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of (B)the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and (C)set a seal on him, (D)so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.

The Saints Reign with Christ 1,000 Years

And I saw (E)thrones, and they sat on them, and (F)judgment was committed to them. Then I saw (G)the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, (H)who had not worshiped the beast (I)or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they (J)lived and (K)reigned with Christ for [a]a thousand years. But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such (L)the second death has no power, but they shall be (M)priests of God and of Christ, (N)and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

Satanic Rebellion Crushed(O)

Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out (P)to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, (Q)Gog and Magog, (R)to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. (S)They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. 10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone (T)where[b] the beast and the false prophet are. And they (U)will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

The Great White Throne Judgment

11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face (V)the earth and the heaven fled away. (W)And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, (X)small and great, standing before [c]God, (Y)and books were opened. And another (Z)book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged (AA)according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, (AB)and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. (AC)And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then (AD)Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. (AE)This is the second [d]death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life (AF)was cast into the lake of fire.
